BIOGRAPHY U N I T E D S T A T E S A I R F O R C E MASTER SERGEANT JOHN H. ARMINTROUT
Master Sergeant Armintrout is the Operations Training Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC), 97th Intelligence Squadron, Air Combat Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. MSgt Armintrout was born in Hastings, Michigan on 9 April 1960. He graduated from Delton Kellog High School, Delton, Michigan. MSgt Armintrout enlisted in the United States Air Force in August, 1978. He attended language training at the Presidio of Monterey in Monterey, California and Goodfellow AFB, Texas. He was then assigned to the 6947th Electronic Security Squadron (ESS), Homestead AFB, Florida from January 1980 until April 1981 as a Voice Processing Specialist. He then returned to Goodfellow Air Force Base to be trained as an Airborne Cryptologic linguist. He began his flying career in January 1983 with the 6949th Electronic Security Squadron (ESS), Offutt AFB, Nebraska. He also was an Operations Training Manager and a Standardization and Evaluation Flight Examiner. He was assigned to the 6933rd ESS, Howard AFB, Republic of Panama as an Airborne Cryptologic Linguist in October 1990. While assigned at the 6933rd, he was NCOIC of Charlie Flight, Chief of Operations Scheduling, NCOIC of Operations Analysis, and NCOIC of Operations Mission Management sections. He was next assigned to the 97th Intelligence Squadron (IS). Offutt AFB, Nebraska from July, 1996 to present, as NCOIC, Operations Production Flight. He also filled the position of NCOIC, Operations Standardization and Evaluation and NCOIC, Operations Training Flight, and finally NCOIC, Operations Training. He was awarded the Mackay Trophy for Most Meritorious Flight of the Year in 1992 and the 1992 Air Combat Command Safety Award of distinction following the strafing of his aircraft by Peruvian fighter aircraft in April of 1992. MSgt Armintrout is married to the former Wendy Howard from Satellite Beach, Florida. EDUCATION: MSgt Armintrout completed Professional Military Education I, II, NCO Leadership School, and NCO Academy in residence.
