(FIRST OAK LEAF CLUSTER) MASTER SERGEANT JOHN H. ARMINTROUTMERITORIOUS SERVICE1 OCTOBER 1999 TO 30 SEPTEMBER 2003Master Sergeant John H. Armintrout distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as NCOIC, Operations Training, 97th Intelligence Squadron, 55th Operations Group, 55th Wing, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. During this period, Sergeant Armintrout’s exceptional leadership and professional skill resulted in major contributions to many Air Force programs. His impressive dedication to the mission was evident in regular deployments as an Airborne Mission Supervisor supporting Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, as well as SENIOR SCOUT and COBRA BALL taskings. Sergeant Armintrout was instrumental in his crew receiving the General Jerome F. O’Malley Award, recognizing the best overall US Air Force reconnaissance crew of 2001. Sergeant Armintrout directly impacted joint war fighting plans by representing the RIVET JOINT community during the 2000 RJ/JSTARS/AWACS planning conference, devising comprehensive collection plans to support mission execution. A phenomenal linguist, he ranked in the top five of 320 in his language shred on the Air Force Exportable Language Testing Program in all but one of the tests administered. A true legend in the flying community, Sergeant Armintrout has flown a total of 10,391 hours throughout his career. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Armintrout culminate a distinguished career in the service of his country and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
