REFUGIO - Jose Rodriguez Jr., 69, of Refugio died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006.

He was born Aug. 24, 1936, in Refugio to Catherine Canchola Gilbert of Refugio and the late Jose Rodriguez Sr. He was a retired master sergeant who served in the U.S. Air Force. After he retired he worked moved to Florida and worked 10 years as a sheriff's department officer. He was a member of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church.

Survivors: wife, Regina Rodriguez; daughter, Mimi Jenkins of Refugio; sons, Ricky Rodriguez of Key West, Fla., and Joey Rodriguez of Robstown; sister, Beta Lanish; and three grandchildren.
