One from Lee Anthony:      Yea, I've got a few stories, and maybe now is a good time to introduce one for the "Fallen Eagles" category.......

My first flight was on October 17, 1978.  My trainer was Jimmy Bell, who brought a small folding lawn chair to sit on between positions   7 and 11 (TACOP positions on a V model).

It was an ass-kicker of a day, and believe it or not, then-MSgt (future Chief) Bell was actually real patient with me.  After we went off-watch, Jimmy wrote his Master's Thesis on my Form 180 (water sol, y'know), which ultimately resulted in 2 pages of documentation.  He informed me the AMS would also have pertinent remarks to make concerning my performance that day.

Eliot Lopez-Sanchez was the AMS (I think Espy was the 5-op).   He had given me a lot of crap in general, but I thought all of it was normal "first flight hazing", and expected detailed professional comments concerning my training status.     Upon receipt of the training letter in the debrief, I found a simple 5-word AMS review:

"Got his fucking ass kicked!"--followed by the initials ELS.

11,400 flight hours later, I'm still worried about getting another review like that......
